Watchdog revises Russian GDP fall estimate for 2020 to 2.7% from 3%

MOSCOW, Dec 30 (PRIME) -- The Federal State Statistics Service has revised the estimate for gross domestic product (GDP) decline in 2020 to 2.7% from 3%, the authority said in a statement on Thursday. 

The GDP amounted to 107.315 trillion rubles in real terms in the period.

The service also revised the 2019 GDP growth estimate to 2.2% from 2%. In real terms, the GDP amounted to 109.608 trillion rubles.

"The adjustment of the GDP estimate for 2020 is based on annual results of federal statistic monitoring and the foreign trade transactions data of the Federal Customs Service in 2020 as compared with 2019," the service said.

A preliminary report on the economy in 2021 is expected in mid-February 2022.
